Community Guidelines
Last updated June 2026
Swaption works because most people are decent. These guidelines make that explicit. Breaking them gets your listing removed, your account warned, suspended, or banned — depending on severity.
Be honest
- Only list things you own, can legally sell, and intend to ship or hand over.
- Photos must be of the actual item. No stock photography.
- State condition and defects clearly. Don't claim "new" if it's been worn.
Be respectful
- No harassment, hate speech, threats, doxxing, slurs, or discrimination.
- No unsolicited romantic or sexual messages.
- Use the in-app block and report tools if someone crosses the line.
Be safe
- Use a SwapZone or another public location for in-person meet-ups.
- Tell a friend, share the meeting time, bring a charged phone.
- Don't hand over money before inspecting the item.
Don't game the system
- No duplicate accounts, fake reviews, or coordinated inauthentic behavior.
- Don't move negotiations off-platform to avoid fees or escrow protection.
- Don't list prohibited items — see the full prohibited items list.
Reporting
Tap the flag icon on a listing, message, or profile to report it. Our trust & safety team reviews every report. For urgent safety issues, contact local authorities first — we'll cooperate with legitimate law-enforcement requests.
